Richard Smith
Richard Smith is an ACA-qualified finance leader, with more than 25 years’ experience across life sciences, medical technology and other innovation-led businesses.
Before founding Integral, Richard held senior finance, commercial and general management roles at AstraZeneca and Advanced Medical Solutions. His positions included Finance Director for M&A and Strategic Planning at AstraZeneca.
Today, Richard works with founders, boards and management teams of early-stage science and technology companies, helping them connect technical development, commercial opportunity and capital. He focuses particularly on identifying the milestones that genuinely create value, understanding what they will cost and sequencing funding accordingly.
Richard brings an independent and constructively challenging perspective, combining financial discipline with commercial and R&D experience. His work covers fundraising and investor readiness, forecasting and runway management, governance, board reporting and company valuation. He also uses valuation as a practical tool to test assumptions and identify the factors that matter most to value creation.
Mark Hollingworth
Mark Hollingworth is a CIMA-qualified CFO and Finance Director with more than 25 years’ experience in financial management, including senior roles across life sciences, healthcare and technology businesses.
He has worked with large international organisations as well as early-stage, venture-backed companies. His experience includes fundraising, investor relations, board reporting, financial planning, commercial contracts, licensing and operational finance. Mark previously held senior finance roles at AstraZeneca and has since supported a range of high-growth businesses as CFO, Finance Director and senior finance partner.
Mark provides flexible, strategic and practical financial leadership to founders, boards and management teams. He helps businesses strengthen financial control, support growth and prepare for investment, commercial partnerships or exit.
Mary Duke
Mary Duke is a CIMA-qualified Finance Director with a background at AstraZeneca, where she was finance lead for drug product teams from late-stage development through launch and into the on-market phase.
Mary has worked with Integral Finance since February 2018 and now works as a portfolio Finance Director for emerging life sciences companies. She provides practical financial leadership to founders, boards and management teams, supporting areas including financial planning and forecasting, board reporting, fundraising and investor readiness, financial control and the wider commercial and operational needs of growing businesses.
